Sledging fun
Having fun on your winter holiday has never been so easy! All you need is a sledge, a rustic mountain inn and a snowy sledging track. It’s a great experience in every sense: the hike up is good for your health, stopping for some culinary delights is a real treat, and racing back down is endless mind-boggling fun. Kronplatz/Plan de Corones has a large choice of excellent sledging tracks.
No winter holiday is complete without some skidding and sliding action on a sledge! Clamber up there and speed back down – but don’t forget your deserved break for local treats like grey cheese, Jagertee (black tea with rum) or a mouth-watering Speck and cheese platter in one of the many mountain inns and huts! And here’s an even more special adventure: full-moon sledging! Don’t miss out on it!
Please note: The Korer and Cianross sledging tracks are connected with the Kronplatz lift network. The starting points of both tracks are easily reached with the Korer cable car (Brunico/Riscone-Bruneck/Reischach) or the Cianross cable car (San Vigilio di Marebbe-St. Vigil in Enneberg), both of which can be used with all valid Kronplatz/Plan de Corones ski passes. On certain nights, the tracks will be lit by floodlights and are open for night-time sledging.
Showshoeing & ski tours
Feeling the nature
Our mountains are also ideal for ski and snowshoeing tours. Let yourself be led by an experienced instructor – whether you are a beginner or want to try out the virgin powder snow or firm. The frontier crossing from the Val Casies-Gsieser Tal to Villgraten or from the Antholzertal-Valle d’Anterselva to the Defreggental valley, or a tour in the UNESCO world natural heritage Dolomites is certainly a spectacular experience. The Valle Aurina-Ahrntal awaits with breathtaking mountain vistas. Tours close to the main Alpine ridge guarantee a unique mountain experience.
Or you may stride through the soft snow in the valley if you wish – where you find yourself alone in nature – luxurious silence included.
Fun on the Ice
Ice Skating, Curling, Hockey, and More
Ice skating is a traditional type of winter sport that is being rediscovered and has caught on with adults and little ones alike. It doesn’t matter whether it’s at a natural outdoor skating area or inside a roofed arena, the winter sport on two blades means not just a good physical workout, but also a huge amount of fun.
Curling is available at all outdoor skating areas.
Ice hockey is an important subject in the Val Pusteria-Pustertal. The aces of the HC Pustertal hockey club captivate thousands of spectators and fans.
